CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle yet powerful technique for people of all ages, including babies and young children, that is very effective for releasing head, neck, shoulder, back, pelvic and other body pain and stress. It does this by assisting gentle relaxation of tissues and nerves and optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the brain with gentle holds and very light pressure or traction.  It is not an oil based bodywork, so people are fully clothed except for shoes and belt.

Excellent for clearing head, neck, shoulder, back and other body aches as well as leftovers from old injuries and surgeries, CST is beneficial for many other situations including sciatica pain, pelvic, bladder, pregnancy balancing and recovery from childbirth, and PMS challenges; respiratory, sinus, snoring, digestion, TMJ, teeth, braces, swallowing, vertigo, brain, ear and balance problems.  It also may assist hyperactivity, sensory issues, high blood pressure, heartburn, depression, insomnia and other conditions.  Sessions may include gentle in-mouth (with gloves) attention to tissues and/or SomatoEmotional Release to assist healing and rebalancing from injuries, etc., too.

Developed by Dr. John Upledger based upon the cranial osteopathy work of Dr. William Sutherland, this therapy provides a soothing, relaxing healing experience.  It may be combined with other bodywork modalities, such as Neurovasuclar Integration, acupressure, Touch for Health muscle testing and balancing, reflexology and Emotional Freedom Technique meridian tapping for your benefit.  Parents and children may share, or children may have a shorter time, prorated session, too.    People are clothed for sessions except for shoes and belts, and no essential or other oils are used.

Neurovascular Integration

Neurovascular Integration (NI) gently enhances ease for body, mind and spirit and can be amazingly relaxing.

Developed by Dr. Cathy Holway, PT, DPT, based upon 30+ years of experience with light touch therapies and her research on the nervous system, NI assists the neurological conversations between body and brain.  It improves sensory and tissue functions through gentle holds primarily at different bone-related locations including ankles, knees, hips, ribs, shoulders, elbows, wrists, neck and head.

NI assists change from sympathetic fight, flight or freeze types of actions, to the parasympathetic relax and re-balance modes as tension releases and you adjust through self-corrective body mechanisms. It facilitates regulation of sensory processing and enables you to attend to discomfort and change in a more balanced way through the touch locations, and also by assisting you through your breathing.

As your brain registers new “safe and soothing” input from the body, it may generate spontaneous, corrective movement. You may experience warmth, tingling, pulsing, softening, and/or a sense of flow or relief. The therapist follows the corrective motion and supports your body to change at its own pace.   It is amazingly relaxing.

NI combines very well with CranioSacral Therapy and other bodywork modalities to meet your needs.  This bodywork also does not involve oil-based massage so people are clothed for relaxing sessions on the massage table except for shoes and belt.  Additional information is available upon request.

Acupressure

Acupressure is based upon ancient principles of healing - that gently touching specific points on the body will release stress and improve health and energy in the body.  In an acupressure session, primarily using Jin Shin Do methods and with applying CranioSacral Therapy acupressure techniques,  we work with gentle pressure with various "points" on your body. Areas of focus will depend upon your priorities for wellness and which systems and areas need attention.  This simple and powerful technique has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and many other situations.   It does not involve oil based massage, so people are clothed for this bodywork and  it may be easily combined with the other modalities to meet your priorities.   Emotional Freedom Technique meridian tapping that uses acupressure point areas is also an option in a session for significantly reducing and clearing stress, pain and a variety of life tensions.
